About Sunrise Optimist Club

Purposes of The Optimist Club To develop optimism as a philosophy of life; To promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs; To inspire respect for law; To promote patriotism and work for International accord and friendship among all people; To aid and encourage the development of youth in the belief that giving one's self in service to others will advance the well-being of mankind, our community, and the World.

Sunrise Optimist Club has served the Columbia Community since inception of its charter in 1956.  Sunrise Optimist Club is one of 4,100 Optimist Clubs across North America. Optimists conduct over 55,000 community and youth oriented projects . . . directly impacting 5 million youngsters annually!

Optimist Clubs are made up of men and women interested in serving their communities. They are caring people, committed to programs that educate youth about drug abuse, law enforcement and other issues that will shape young lives. Optimist Clubs and their members are making a positive impact on the lives of today's youth and the future.
